27 lessons are billed and scheduled per year, if I miss any lessons for examining, illness or any other reason, I will make sure that another is offered at a mutually convenient time.  If a time can not be found then the lesson will be rolled into the next years fees.  there are 36 weeks in the academic year, which gives a lot of wriggle room between that and the 27 lessons.

If pupils miss a lesson for any reason, there is no guarantee that this lesson will be replaced by another, or that the extra lessons offered in the school holidays will be convenient to you.  I will do my best to offer times but there are no guaranteed make up lessons, and you are not entitled to unlimited rescheduling.  If you miss too many and have not taken 27 by the end of August each year, then this is on you, and lessons are not transferrable to the next year.  I have sliding sympathies on the reasons for missed lessons, illness can't be helped, other social events can be scheduled around the piano lesson, and are known about in advance.  I don't take kindly to being told on the day of a lesson that someone has chosen to go to a birthday party instead of coming to their piano lesson AND expect me to find another time for the lesson to happen also.

For this reason, please prioritise your piano lessons, and let me know well in advance if you are unable to make a scheduled lesson, the further in advance you do this, the more likely it is that I'll be able to find a time during the same week or nearby to offer you another slot.

This article is well worth reading, and makes salient points regarding music lessons and the time limited nature of the product.
